6. Owen is trying to work out his issues in therapy.

Heeding Megan’s advice, Owen goes to therapy and tries to learn more about why he acts the way he does, essentially. Apparently, some of Owen’s self-destructive habits, like the way he continuously messes up his chance at a serious relationship with Teddy, may stem from an incident that occurred when he was 10 years old and learned about his dad’s death.

Teddy texts Owen afterward to check in on him, having been tipped off by Megan. He claims it was a hard day, but a good one. Perhaps he might actually make some progress for once. Is Grey’s setting up for a romantic Teddy/Owen reconciliation by season’s end?

5. Amelia believes Tom is making a mistake with Teddy.

We haven’t seen Amelia and Tom’s friendship in a while and this episode rectifies that. Tom wants all the gory details on Amelia and Link’s relationship while Amelia wants to give Tom some friendly advice about what happens to the people who stand in the way of the inevitable Teddy/Owen romance. She believes Tom needs to make the choice to get out of the way, that Teddy will always love Owen and Owen will always love Teddy. Amelia admits she may always be hung up on Owen, who knows?

But for now, she’s making the easy choice in Link. He’s a refreshing cool dive into a pool on a hot summer’s day. He’s simple, together they have fun and that’s what she wants right now. Honestly, I felt like Amelia’s advice was kind of inappropriate, in a way.

If I was Tom I would have been pissed. Though I hope Amelia and Owen never get together again and I do agree with her that Teddy and Owen are inevitable. I still think that is something Tom is going to need to figure out for himself. Then again, the nature of their friendship is blunt honesty so fort hem, the advice makes sense.
