Jace’s risky plan to work undercover

In last week’s episode, the power of the twinning rune grew to the point where Clary no longer had control over her actions. The dynamic between Clary and Jace is especially interesting because of Lilith and the Owl demon, having experienced the effects of losing control over his actions. We’re going to see a few other characters react to learning that Clary’s sided with Jonathan on his quest to find the Morning Star Sword, and there’s a swift plan thrown into place because of an immediate need to track Clary’s location.

Like we saw in the episode sneak peek scene with Jace and Alec, the parabatai are going to remain in contact telepathically thanks to the magic from the Seelie rings. Jace knows how to reach out to Clary and Jonathan and the specific words he chooses gives us a better understanding of how this “new” Clary processes and feels about her relationships with both Jace and Jonathan… but more on that later.

We finally get some more parabatai content in Shadowhunters Season 3, Episode 19, and though the two are working on a singular mission, we still wish the series utilized their connection more this season.

Jace is going to need to tread lightly as he attempts to follow through on his efforts to get close to Clary, but the challenges he faces along the way will keep the audience on their toes, anticipating the moment where everything could come crashing down.
