4. Season 1, Episode 9 – “Ronald Reagan’s White House Collectible Pen”

This is one of those episodes that turned out to be way better than the plot summary made it seem. Will tries to enact a new anti-smartphone agenda at a parental social night. In true Will fashion, he adorns a cell phone costume. Then he ends up having sex with another mom at the party (while in costume), and the entire thing is broadcast live to the room.

Angie tries to fit in with a judgy group of moms known as the “we’vers,” but when they take things too far by insulting her friends she goes on a tirade and gets an epic mic drop moment. There are a few lovely Douglas/Poppy moments sprinkled in for good measure.

3. Season 1, Episode 14 – “The Shed”

All of Douglas’s efforts to make his twin girls more like a single entity rather than the troublemaking duo they are backfire when he learns that Amy is a mathematical genius. The discovery pits the twins against each other, which foils Douglas’s plans of having them build his shed in the backyard.

Meanwhile, Angie is nervous about a playdate because she has to spend time with the mother of Graham’s new friend. A priceless quote from this episode, “Amy has just put Emma up for sale on Craigslist.”
