20. Alex Vause — Orange Is the New Black

Played by: Laura Prepon

Why they’re so great: Alex isn’t afraid to tell it like it is. While she certainly has her flaws — she’s an inmate at Litchfield Penitentiary, after all! — she does have osme redeeming qualities. There is this need for love and commitment, but she’s so guarded and self-focused that she’ll often betray the people she loves for her own gain. Of course, others will do the same to her.

When it comes to survival, Alex knows how to manage it. She uses humor in problematic situations, making it much harder for people to read her. But she can certainly read them.

19. Alex Danvers — Supergirl

Played by: Chyler Leigh

Why they’re so great: Alex Danvers is kind, considerate, and a team player. She always puts the fate of the world and others first, even if that means she loses out on the people she loves.

Alex was perfect for many of those figuring out their sexuality when she realized that she was a lesbian. There was the fear of what other people thought, especially her family. In the end, she knew she had to come out and she found out that those who really cared about her would accept her for who she is. She’s an inspiration for many.
