18. Emily/Ofglen — The Handmaid’s Tale

Played by: Alexis Bledel

Why they’re so great: Emily is a fighter. She’s been to Hell and back during her two-and-a-bit seasons on The Handmaid’s Tale. But she’s still standing and finding a way to get back to her family.

Smart and considerate, Emily has endured torture and genital mutilation. That would be enough to break many and it almost did break Emily, but she’s on the other side of it now. She still has a long road ahead but she’s an inspiration to many.

17. Connor Walsh — How to Get Away with Murder

Played by: Jack Falahee

Why they’re so great: Connor isn’t one of the most well-liked LGBTQ TV characters on TV right now but he is one to look up to. He’s determined, willing to do what it takes to win. However, his pride is his flaw, and when he fails at something, he struggles to accept it.

These flaws make him three-dimensional. Once he accepts his failures, he’s able to move forward. This is something that we can all learn from and appreciate.
