Big Brother 21 Episode 20 aired last night on CBS! In the previous episode, Jack Matthews and Jackson Michie were nominated for eviction by Head of Household Jessica Milagros. At the Power of Veto Competition, Tommy Bracco, Jack, and Michie received punishments. Nick Maccarone and Kathryn “Kat” Dunn won prizes. Jessica won the Power of Veto.

After the Power of Veto Competition, Michie caught Nick playing both sides and informed Jessica. Even though Jessica considered using the Power of Veto to save Michie and replace him with Nick, she ultimately didn’t use it. Jack and Michie remained nomination for eviction.

Last night, we saw the fallout from the Power of Veto ceremony, last-minute scrambling, and the live eviction. After the live eviction, host Julie Chen-Moonves grilled Jack Matthews about his actions in the house and we saw the Head of Household Competition.

Big Brother 21 Episode 20 begins

Big Brother 21 Episode 20 began with Julie greeting CBS audiences and gave them a brief summary of the events that led to where things were last night. The show then launched into a recap of events, which lasted a few minutes. The main title sequence was not shown, as is typical on eviction nights. After the recap, Big Brother 21 Episode 20 began where Episode 19 left off, at the end of the Power of Veto ceremony.

Nomination ceremony fallout and punishments

Jessica was confident Jack was going home. Michie refused to campaign against Jack. He didn’t want Analyse Talavera, Christie Murphy, or Tommy Bracco’s votes as they were now non-existent to him. Jack hated being on the block next to Michie and having to deal with his impending punishment.

Michie was then called to the diary room to receive his Area 21 punishment. For Michie’s punishment, he would be on call for the next 24 hours as the Area 21 alien doctor. Michie could be called at any time of day to go to Area 21 and perform an alien autopsy. Once the autopsy was complete, the alien would unleash slime that came in different colors on Michie.

Jack then received his Angry Alien punishment. A person dressed in an alien costume came to the house to “study” Jack. Jack had to whatever the alien wanted. The alien also got increasingly angry as time passed. The alien also followed Jack around everywhere. Among other things the alien did were yell at the top of his lungs as well as dump food and drinks everywhere.

Last-minute scrambling

The Six Shooters tried to regroup. Tommy felt they didn’t have to like each other to work together. Michie told Jessica, Nicole Anthony, and Cliff Hogg III he was not going to campaign this week because of a promise he made to Jack. Michie then joined the other Six Shooters in the Head of Household room. This sparked red flags with Cliff.

Christie apologized for her actions but Michie was having none of it. Jack apologized to Michie for violating his trust. However, Michie remained unmoved by their apologies. Christie got upset with Michie for not accepting their apologies. Michie refused to be part of the six anymore.

After the conversation with the former Six Shooters, Jack tried to campaign for votes. Jack knew he had Christie, Tommy, and Analyse’s votes and needed two more to stay. Jack first campaigned to Nick. Nick told Jack he would vote his way if he had 4 votes and he got protection from Jack next week.

Nick then suggested that Jack talk to Cliff. Jack knew he couldn’t talk to Kat because he accused her of being in a trio with Holly and MIchie. He also knew he couldn’t go to Nicole because he didn’t talk game with Nicole. So that left Cliff.

Jack then offered Cliff a deal. Jack offered Cliff four weeks of being immune from eviction and told Cliff that Cliff could nominate Jack as a shield. Cliff felt Jack’s deal was even better than what he thought he might get and considered it.

Live eviction

Ultimately, Cliff didn’t take Jack’s deal. At the live eviction, Jack was evicted by a vote of 6-2. Only Christie and Analyse voted to keep Jack.

Upon his departure from the house, Julie grilled Jack about some of the offensive remarks he made in the house. Jack apologized for and explained his actions to Julie and the audience.

Head of Household Competition

After Julie grilled Jack, it was time for the Head of Household Competition. For this Head of Household Competition, players had to enter a kayak with the help of guides, and paddle down the rapids to the other side.

The goal was to get from the start to the finish line in as close to 9 seconds as possible. The houseguest who came closest to 9 seconds would be crowned Head of Household. It did not matter if you were over or under 9 seconds. Tommy won Head of Household (on his birthday no less) with a time of 8.90 seconds. That concluded Big Brother 21 Episode 20.
