8 biggest moments from The Handmaid’s Tale Season 3 finale
6. Serena Joy arrested for her crimes
Thought Serena Joy was going to just walk away scot-free? Of course that could never happen. She has been complicit in far too much.
Fred decided it was time to look out for his own interests. As he was questioned, he brought up Serena’s involvement in everything. Of course, she was going to get away with things at first, granted immunity for her cooperation. If only she told them everything.
Fred knew all about Nick and June. He knew Serena’s part in the beginning of that relationship. Nichole may have eventually been born out of love, but that relationship started off as one of coercion and rape. No, Nick isn’t at fault here. He and June both had to go along with Serena Joy’s expectations if they wanted to live.
I’m surprised Serena wasn’t expecting that to come up. She’d told Fred that she had turned him in and betrayed him. Did she really think that Fred wouldn’t come up with something to get her arrested too?
5. Far more than 52 kids
The Martha network spread the news. The children of Gilead were being taken out of the country to safety. While the children may know nothing about the past or not remember too much of it, the Marthas know the hope that there is in Canada.
Was it really surprising that more than 52 children ended up being at the house when June and her crew returned? It wasn’t going to be easy to get them all out, but I was so happy to see that the Marthas stuck around too. They helped get their own children out, making sure the plan could go ahead.
