8 biggest moments from The Handmaid’s Tale Season 3 finale
8. The early arrival
You just knew that the plan to get the kids out couldn’t go off without a hitch. The first issue to crop up was the early arrival. A Martha brought her child in daylight, causing a huge issue later. The Matha panicked when nobody else turned up early and decided to try to take the child back.

I got the fear, but the Martha made the problem herself. She should have stuck to the timing agreed upon earlier. Did she really think June would let the child go back after getting there early? Plus, this early arrival led to a major issue later, with the Wife walking up from the drugs early and alerting authorities.
It wasn’t surprising that Lawrence wanted to call the whole thing off. Fortunately, June stood up to him and made it clear it was happening with or without him.
7. June with the gun
You knew the gun from earlier in the season was going to come up in the finale, right? When the Martha panicked and tried to take the child back, June decided to get the gun and try to force the Martha to stay. It was at least enough to get the child to stay.
Unfortunately, June went on instinct and reacted out of her own fear. She pointed the gun at the young girl’s head, threatening to shoot her.
This is a huge turning point for June’s character. This push to get the kids out has caused her to forget partially who she is. Just how far is she willing to go to take down Gilead?
