9. Bad Times at the El Royale

Original Release Date: The United States received the movie on Oct. 12, 2018.

Box Office Earnings: Sadly, the movie wasn’t a financial success. It made just $7m of it’s $32m budget during opening weekend. It would eventually make $17m in the United States, and gross $31m worldwide.

Critical Acclaim: Despite not being a financial success, the movie would be a crucial success. Both audiences and critics were favorable, giving it a 74% and 75% score respectively. It is also rated Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. This is one of those movies perfect for Tarantino fans.

About the Role: Chris Hemsworth shows his abilities to take on a very different role in Bad Times at the El Royale. He’s the sadistic cult leader, Billy Lee. It’s not going to be comfortable watching him in such a different role compared to everything else on the list, but it’s definitely worth your time.

Simply the Best: In a way, Chris Hemsworth has already started to get type cast as the hero. We can thank the likes of Avengers and even the short stints in Star Trek for that. However, Bad Times at the El Royale give us a very different role. We get to see him in a darker and more twisted role, showing what he could do in the future.
