5 must-watch movies for your next girls night with your BFFs

5. A Simple Favor

The first movie to make my list might surprise some people and that’s A Simple Favor. It’s currently streaming on Hulu and probably wouldn’t be anyone’s first pick. If you’ve watched the movie, then you know. If you haven’t, then you’re in for a complete rollercoaster ride from start to finish.

Starring Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick as best friends, this film is hard to describe without giving spoilers. Simply put, Lively’s character, Emily vanishes and her best friend, Stephanie goes on a mission to find her and to find out what happened. It’s a really fascinating film and one that will leave you guessing by the end. Possibly in confusion, shock or disgust…maybe a mix of the three.

What makes the film so good is the polar opposite characters that Emily and Stephanie play as they don’t seem like they’d be best friends. Nevertheless, it works and that’s one of the best parts of friendship. You might not seem like you click with someone but you do. As for why it’s a great girls night film, A Simple Favor will have you laughing one second, frowning the next and then shaking your head a minute later.

It’s truly a whirlwind of a movie and can’t be defined as one genre. While it seems like I’m being a little bit cryptic, it’s better to go into the movie, knowing nothing. It’s also one of those movies that everyone will interpret differently so it’ll give everyone a lot to talk about.
