1. Season 3: “Ear-sy Rider”

Finally, we made it to the top of the list and once again, this might be a slightly controversial pick but of all the episodes, it was the best premiere the show’s had yet. Coming in at #1 is “Ear-sy Rider” which served as the first episode of season 3. As far as season premieres go, this is the best for multiple reasons but first, let’s get into what the episode is about.

“Ear-sy Rider” is a two-plot line episode. The main plotline features Louise getting her trademark ears stolen by a high-schooler named Logan while the second plotline features a motorcycle gang coming to Bob’s Burgers to celebrate the life of a fallen member. The two plotlines mix when Louise tries to get her ears back from Logan using the bikers to intimidate them. Thankfully, the episode ends on a lighter note, though.

“Ear-sy Rider” almost didn’t make the top spot at first as I was ready to give it “Flu-ouise” because the episodes are very similar. “Ear-sy Rider” edged it out because it’s really our first introduction to Louise’s character. We get to see how hell-bent she is on revenge and what she’s willing to do to get what she wants. Watching the scene where the garbage gets lit on fire with Louise laughing is a pretty good demonstration of that.

By the end though, Louise learns her lesson to not use scary bikers to get what she wants and rather, try to work things out her own way. For the most part, she’s kept her promise for the remaining seasons. After the somewhat mixed reviews for seasons 1 and 2, “Ear-sy Rider” was the start of what Bob’s Burgers evolved into it. Some of you might disagree with my rankings and that’s fine because that’s what makes us fans. We all love different aspects of the show but at the end of the day, we all still love the Belchers.

Bob’s Burgers airs Sundays on Fox at 9/8c.
