Alberto Rosende on Chicago Fire

We learned earlier this summer that Alberto Rosende would be on Chicago Fire Season 8 in a recurring role, playing a young, enthusiastic new recruit named Blake Gallo “who loves his job.” We also learned that Gallo would join Firehouse 51’s second shift crew because of the CFD expanding the allotted number of firefighters on duty for that time block.

Chicago Fire premiered Sept. 25 on NBC, but Rosende’s first episode will be Season 8, Episode 2, “A Real Shot in the Arm,” and we have a good feeling that Blake Gallo is the “energetic” new firefighter referred to in the synopsis. Read the full episode description below:

"Lt. Casey struggles to get Chief Boden to sign off on an energetic new recruit. Against her better judgment, Foster extends an olive branch to her irritating new medic. Otis inspires Herrmann to seek new partners at Molly’s. Brett realizes life in Fowlerton will take some getting used to."

In a TV Insider interview with executive producer Derek Haas released after the season premiere, Haas shared that he was excited to have Rosende come onto the series, saying, “[Gallo]’s the raw talent that would be described as junior Casey/junior Severide.” Haas also revealed that “not everyone’s on board with bringing this guy over” to the team, and we’re looking forward to learning more about Gallo throughout Chicago Fire Season 8.
