Some memorable comedy films are turning double digits this upcoming year.  Let’s take a stroll down memory lane and visit some as 2020 is almost here.

With another decade of entertainment almost in the books, it’s a realization that the 2010s was filled with some great film/TV/music/award moments. It’s almost kind of surreal to realize that many films you may have enjoyed watching are now nearly a decade old.

In the comedy genre, the 2010s were filled with plenty of memorable films starring some of the best comics in the business. This decade also paved the way for some unforgettable comedy film series, such as the Grown Ups, 21 Jump Street, Neighbors, and the Ride Along films, along with two of the three Hangover movies.

Let’s look at several comedy flicks specifically turning 10 in 2020:

Easy A

Olive Penderghast (Emma Stone) is an introverted high schooler who prefers the cozy confines of her room rather than a party. After telling a little white lie to her friend to avoid a camping trip, Olive decides to do it again and lies about being with a college guy only to have a snobby girl at school named Marianne (Amanda Bynes) hear it and disseminate that info.

In turn, this lie circulates throughout the entire school, and the normally overlooked Olive has now gained celebrity status. Using her newfound fame, Olive decides to change her persona and add a little pizazz to her name by acting popular and pretending to be reckless. Now, it’s just a bunch of flat-out lies (in which Olive deserves an A if there were a telling lies class) and the massive entanglement of them may affect others and not leave Olive in such a warm spotlight. It won’t be an easy A in rewinding her image amidst the rumor-driven nature of high school.

This film has a star-studded cast, including Lisa Kudrow, Aly Michalka, Penn Badgley, Dan Byrd, Cam Gigandet, and Thomas Haden Church.
