With the 2010s soon to be in the rearview mirror, we decided to look back at Big Brother seasons of the past decade. Today we will be picking the best season of the 2010s. There were a few good ones, but in the end, one stood out above the rest.  In our opinion, the best season of the decade was Big Brother 14.

Best Big Brother season of the 2010s: Big Brother 14

BB14 featured 4 former houseguests returning to the house to coach the 12 new houseguests. The 4 coaches were some of the most legendary houseguests in BB history: Janelle Pierzina, Mike “Boogie” Malin, Dan Gheesling, and Britney Haynes. After week 3, the coaches were offered the chance to become full fledged players in the game, which they accepted.

Normally when you pit newbies against returnees in Big Brother, the newbies end up just following the returning players and almost none of them stand out. That wasn’t the case this season. While they did align with the returnees, they played their own games and you realistically could pick several to return for future seasons. In fact, one of them did return for Big Brother 18. I feel what allowed the newbies to shine like they did this season was that going into the game, the returnees were just coaches.

The night 1 eviction stunk, but that was the only thing to bash about this season. It was a good side vs. side battle. The two sides had smart players that knew who was on what side. You need that in a good season. This season also featured the single greatest move ever made in BB history (Dan’s Funeral), several other devastating blindsides, and even an expulsion. The most important thing BB14 had was an enjoyable winner.

All of this makes BB14 the greatest season of the 2010s in our opinion. Big Brother 20 finishes 2nd. While BB20 had a lot of similar qualities to BB14, the side that got picked off in BB20 wasn’t as smart as the alliance that got picked off in BB14. BB14 just had amazing gameplay and entertaining moments all around.
