5. Solar Opposites

Switching gears, it’s time to talk about an animated show that doesn’t have a release date yet. It’s also aimed at a more adult audience. Created by Justin Roiland of Rick and Morty fame along with Mike McMahan, Solar Opposites is an upcoming series that’s premiering on Hulu. This is a much-awaited follow-up from Roiland who has been laser-focused on Rick and Morty since the series premiered.

No surprise that Solar Opposites is going to be in the sci-fi genre. As per usual, IMDb has everything we know at this point:

"“A family of aliens move to middle America, where they debate whether life is better there or on their home planet.”"

Considering how popular aliens have been for the last few years, this is a smart move by Roiland. It’s nice to see Roiland capitalizing on what he knows since sci-fi is where he’s found success. Hopefully, he decides to expand genres in the future.

Right now, the series is poised for 16 episodes with Roiland, Mary Mack and Sean Giambrone all voicing characters. Everyone loves Rick and Morty so no doubt they’ll follow Roiland’s next project. Either way, Solar Opposites is easily going to be a huge hit for Hulu.

Hulu has yet to have a hugely popular animated show yet so Solar Opposites could help them become an even bigger competitor to Netflix. A follow-up series to an incredibly popular show can always be nerve-racking but there’s no way Justin Roiland is going to disappoint fans with this one.
