There are multiple character stories happening throughout Chicago Fire Season 8, Episode 14. Here’s how to watch the episode live tonight.
One of the callouts tonight involves a gas leak. However, this doesn’t sound like one simple gas leak. There are a bunch of them going on, which is going to spread Firehouse 51 thin. However, this isn’t like the episode with the false alarms in the private school. The gas leaks aren’t going to be fake calls, but multiple genuine emergencies.

Meanwhile, there are plenty of character storylines. Brett is involved in one of them, coming off the personal dilemma she shared with Casey during the last episode. Her birth mother has got in touch with her and wants to meet, and now Brett needs to decide if she wants to meet with her. It’s a difficult decision, and there are certainly going to be questions about why she was given up for adoption in the first place. Why get in touch with Brett now?
Severide is naturally part of another character story. He’s Cruz’s best man, but it sounds like he’s taking on duties that Cruz doesn’t actually want him to do. Or is he planning stag dos and other things that Cruz doesn’t really want?
The synopsis also tells us that “Mouch bites off more than he can chew.” What’s this going to involve? Are we looking at something to do with Tuesday? I’m working with the “bites” part of the synopsis. Fortunately, he and Herrmann seem to be back on track with their friendship, so it shouldn’t be anything to do with that.
