Lifetime’s new movie, Dying to Be You, follows two pen pals who finally get to meet after years of written correspondence, only for things to get twisted.

Natalie Dreyfuss and Elise Gatien star as Molly and Lily, two girls that first became pen pals when they were in fourth grade, they became best friends and remained in contact into adulthood. Dying to Be You begins on Lily’s 25th birthday when Molly turns up out of the blue to stay with her long-time pal.

The following list details the craziest moments from Lifetime’s latest film, Dying to Be You.

5. Molly starts single white female-ing Lily

After infiltrating Lily’s life, it doesn’t take long for Molly to start mimicking Lily’s every move. She all but forces her boyfriend, Matthew, to make them creepy friendship necklaces, and then she starts to steal Lily’s clothes. Of course, it doesn’t end there.

She finds a terrible cheap wig to make herself look just like Lily! You’d think she genuinely cared about Lily, she would at least try to find a less ugly hairpiece.

4. Molly murders Matthew

The boyfriend does not survive this particular Lifetime outing. He becomes one of the film’s early victims. Molly brutally kills him, and poor Lily is left to mourn him. However, the typical villain-boyfriend-main character did play out a little differently.

For starters, the “touch me under the table” bit was pretty shocking, and one would anticipate that Molly would have tried harder at seducing Matthew rather than just sabotaging their relationship and killing him. Perhaps she knew it would never happen.

3. Molly isn’t really Molly, after all

Dying to Be You drops several hints throughout that “Molly” isn’t Molly at all. Eventually, we discover that her sociopathic sister, Beth, murdered the real Molly Cumberland. Beth then took the place of her sister and traveled to meet Lily to steal her life.

One would think that these two would have exchanged photos at least once over the years. Have they never seen an episode of Catfish?

2. Ms. B somehow survives

Usually, the nosy neighbor is the first person to go, but somehow Ms. B winds up surviving. I have to admit I was rooting for her by the end, especially after Beth ties her up in her apartment.

She may have been a little creepy, but she was the only one to see through Molly’s B.S. and have Lily’s back!

1. Lily kills Beth

Luckily, Lily does come out on top at the end. She goes straight for Beth’s jugular, literally.  The final scuffle pays off spectacularly when Lily wipes out Beth for good and takes revenge for her long-lost pen pal. The film ends with her visiting the real Molly’s gravesite to say a final goodbye.
