In this Mar. 4 episode of Paramount Network’s 68 Whiskey, Private Petrocelli decides it’s time for a promotion. A new clip teases him approaching Colonel Austin about the matter, but he’s stopped at the last second.

The upcoming episode of 68 Whiskey titled “Do The Right Thing” will place the spotlight back on Private Anthony Petrocelli (Nicholas Coombe). He’s taken a backseat from the action in recent episodes, but now he has something to say, and it’s about his rank. Unfortunately for Petrocelli, his mission is somewhat flawed.

In an exclusive clip provided by Paramount Network, we can see Petrocelli attempt to approach Austin (Lamont Thompson) about getting his first stripe. He walks in confident that he deserves a promotion, but Durkin (Gage Golightly) stops him in his tracks. She opens up Petrocelli’s personnel file then lists off all the activities he’s been a part of in recent months, which includes signing out a humvee that got blown up and bringing unauthorized livestock onto the base.

Once Petrocelli hears all these marks on his record, his optimism drops quite a bit, even the young soldier’s demeanor changes. Keep in mind that he’s not likely to give up so easily.

Will Nicholas Coombe’s 68 Whiskey character receive his promotion?

If Private Petrocelli has made anything clear over the past few months is that he’s persistent. He’s still green around the gills and is a bit oblivious at times, but Petrocelli isn’t incompetent. He persuaded Austin to let his goat stay on the base, so what’s to say Petrocelli can’t convince him he deserves a promotion.

On top of Petrocelli’s efforts, Durkin will probably help the young soldier out too. She works directly under Colonel Austin, so Durkin is in a prime position to make Petrocelli look better, even if he has made several mistakes in the past.

Regardless of who lends a hand, it’ll be interesting to hear Col. Austin’s reaction to Petrocelli. The Colonel has surprised us on more than one occasion, so who knows how he’ll respond. The question is, does he think Private Petrocelli deserves a promotion?
