Meet the Fockers (2004)

The second film in the Meet the Parents film series, Meet the Fockers is a hilarious flick that depicts the hysteria from when two opposite parties clash. Gaylord/Greg Focker (Ben Stiller) and his fiancé Pam (Teri Polo) decide to take her parents, hard-nosed father Jack (Robert DeNiro) and mother Dina (Blythe Danner), to meet his parents, Bernie (Dustin Hoffman) and Roz (Barbra Streisand), at the Fockers’ home.

It’s an instant recipe for disaster as the Fockers’ super lax lifestyle doesn’t mesh well with Jack. In addition, a series of mishaps involving a back problem, pets, and Greg potentially having a son has the doubtful father questioning his future son-in-law. In turn, he tries to sabotage Greg’s character through intentional acts of malice.

The “friendly” get-together starts taking its toll on the four parents along with Pam and Greg. Can this comical mess be resolved?

The Watch (2012)

Evan Trautwig (Ben Stiller) is just living life in suburban America as the manager of a Costco. In a shocking incident, Trautwig’s close friend and store security guard Antonio Guzman (Joseph A. Nunez) is murdered during an overnight shift. The death is uncalled for, which shakes Evan’s town.

Determined to promote public safety, the manager creates a “watch group” that provides a friendly patrol of the area. Unfortunately, his arsenal to save the town and potentially find Antonio’s killer will only consist of three interested citizens, which includes “lives-with-his-mom” Franklin (Jonah Hill), newly single Jamarcus (Richard Ayoade), and construction employee Bob (Vince Vaughn).

This quartet will now attempt to take down any threat to their town with authority, but that’s only a dream considering they are a bunch of misfits glued together in one group. Things take a turn for the worse when the troop starts to pick up on hints that aliens may be taking over their town. Can this dimwitted pack of men become real heroes?
