Carole “Savage” Baskin – A Tiger King Song by ChewieCatt

When a Tiger King video starts out with mentioning sardine oil prices being way down right now, you know it’s going to be good. Add in the cool cats and kittens not only in the intro, but also the lyrics, and you have a serious gem.

Pointing out Joe’s mullet as a key lyric is a subtle home run. It’s just funny. Additionally, the Yondu call out is great for Marvel fans. Of course, the difference is, Yondu would have followed through with the assassination attempt.

Where this video misses the mark is by celebrating Carole a bit too much. She’s called a savage as well as a queen for feeding her husband to the tigers. Then there is a joke where, in baby language, a threat is placed on her current husband Howard’s life. If he slips up, he meets the same fate as tiger lunch.

This video’s best line

"Oh my God, did I just side with Joe Exotic? Not the murder for hire part, cause that’s just toxic."

This video’s grade

This video gets a solid B-. It’s catchy, but partially sides with Carole Baskin. That’s unacceptable.

I Saw a Tiger Cover – Joe Exotic Parody by Alex Hopkins

As mentioned earlier, it’s difficult to do better than the Joe Exotic originals. So “I Saw a Tiger” is going to be difficult to beat because the title is the same. Well, the parody by Alex Hopkins makes a solid attempt. Who knew someone would take Tiger King and turn it into a ballad about Tiger Woods?

This video’s best line

"The truth came out, prescription medications, with a little coke no doubt."

The discount Elton John vibe this video has is Walmart-charming. Filming in an underground garage may be great for acoustics, but it’s bad for appearances.

This video’s grade

Great concept, solid execution, better than average vocals. Give it a B and appreciate Tiger’s career.
