Best animated shows: The 2017 reboot of Ducktales

The first show to make the list is one aimed towards kids but it’s beloved by kids and adults for different reasons. Ducktales was rebooted by Disney in 2017 and at first, not a lot of people were excited.

Thankfully, Disney took a lot of care when it came to rebooting the series, and fans were quick to warm up to it. With two seasons wrapped and one currently being aired, Ducktales is one of the biggest animated surprises to come out of Disney.

The main reason adults like it is because it’s very similar to the original Ducktales. The show also treats its source material with care. It’s similar but not an absolute carbon copy. It’s a tough balance but Disney managed to hit that sweet spot.

For kids, it’s their “introduction” to Donald’s nephews: Huey, Dewey and Louie. Additionally, the show is action-packed, funny and usually has a lesson weaved in there somewhere.

With a stellar cast including David Tennant as Scrooge McDuck, Ducktales is a show that easily could have failed but didn’t. If you aren’t watching and are a fan of the original, then it’s worth giving it a try.

Even if you didn’t watch the original, the series is brilliantly voiced, beautifully animated, and action-packed. It has everything you would want in a good live-action series so why not give this animated series a try on Disney+?
