Bob’s Burgers: Adventure Time is the perfect mix of singing and fun for any fan of Gene

Surprisingly, Gene is one of the tougher characters to crack. When coming up with this list, his pick was the hardest of them all. Maybe it’s because Bob’s Burgers doesn’t show as much as of his character. Either way, it’s hard to find a connection between Gene and a series, but one stuck out to. Before getting into that one, another show that isn’t on Hulu is Apple and Onion which airs on Cartoon Network. It’s funny, features some singing and Eugene Mirman if Adventure Time doesn’t work for you.

There are a few reasons why Gene and Adventure Time go together. The series features Finn and Jake having adventures, usually with some singing involved. If there’s one thing Gene loves, it’s singing and going on “imaginary” adventures with his albino friend, Ken. Those two could be Finn and Jake if they wanted to. While we don’t get much backstory on stuff Gene likes, Adventure Time seems like it’d be the perfect blend of serious topics and whimsy to keep Gene entertained.

Gene is somewhat of an oddball and that’s exactly what Adventure Time is. The show can be happy in one second and sad the next. It’s unpredictable but that’s the joy of the series. You go into the episodes never knowing what you’re going to get. That’s how it can be with Gene’s character from episode-to-episode, too. As weird as it might sound, Gene and Adventure Time have a lot more common than you might think.
