Dan and Linda’s story is a tragic one. While Dan was an awful person doing the things he did, I never believe that someone deserves to die. Linda certainly didn’t, especially if it turns out the story Betty has in her head isn’t completely the real story.

That’s something the previous episode and this finale will delve into. Titled “Perception Is Reality,” it’s clear that we’re seeing what Betty believes. Sometimes, what she’s seen is reality. She thought Dan was having an affair, and he was. However, Dan has taken actions that have led to Betty questioning some reality and not always believing the truth.
It all built up in the penultimate episode to Betty shooting Dan and Linda. We didn’t get to see it, but we know it happened. And we know that Betty is going to be found guilty for this. After all, it’s written in history.
What we’ll get to see is the steps between Betty shooting Dan and Linda and to her being arrested. It’s time to see who the rest of the court case plays out, and why the jury convicts her.
Most importantly, there’s a chance we’ll see how the children react to learning the truth. There’s pain and grief from losing their dad, but there’s also anger towards their mom. And we can’t forget the mixed feelings considering they have seen some of what Betty has been through.
This has been Betty’s story told from her point of view. We’ve seen some of Dan and Linda’s stories, but they’re told with that filter that shows it’s what Betty perceives to be the reality. What will she perceive to be reality in this episode?
