Songland season 3 updates and rumors
Fans are still on the look out for Songland season 3 news.
Can you believe Songland has already aired two seasons? The music competition that strives to elevate the songwriter to celebrity status has been a sleeper hit for NBC, resonating with audiences but not yet becoming the rating juggernaut of its reality TV peers like The Voice or American Idol.
Songland ended its second season in June and fans are eagerly awaiting news of a new season. Here’s what we can tell you.

Songland has yet to be formally renewed for a third season, but Hidden Remote’s Alexandria Ingham thinks there’s a strong possibility it will be. Ratings were down compared to season 1, but it’s hard to read anything into spring 2020 behavior and they were fatally down.
Plus, NBC loves a singing competition. While Songland’s season 3 renewal status is currently still TBD, we feel confident the crew will be back.
Songland season 3 hosts and musical guests
If and when Songland gets picked up for a third season, it’s three producer-hosts-coaches are expected to be back as well: Grammy-nominated producer and songwriter Ester Dean; Grammy-winning producer and lead singer of OneRepublic Ryan Tedder; and Grammy-winning songwriter Shane McAnally.
But what everyone really wants to know is who will be the musical guest. Season 2 saw appearances from Lady A (formerly Lady Antebellum), Luis Fonsi, H.E.R., Julia Michaels, Florida Georgia Line and Usher.
Unfortunately, we won’t be able to even begin to speculate about musical guest rumors until much further along the production line.
