Superman & Lois is just one of the new TV shows to get excited about

There are many returning TV shows this year, which has meant there isn’t that much room for new TV shows. That hasn’t stopped the broadcast networks from ordering a few of them. And there are some that stand out more than others.

Whether you want another DC show to add to your roster or you’re looking for something sci-fi, there are new TV shows for you. Comedy, drama, and animation are all covered in the upcoming season, but on a slightly smaller level.

This is the list as of July 29. Some networks haven’t filled all their slots for the 2020-2021 season since pilots haven’t been able to film yet. We may see more added to the list once filming can start up again.

Here are the nine new TV shows to get excited about in the 2020-2021 season.

9. Superman & Lois

Yes, we’ll start with the latest Arrowverse spin-off. This one is a Supergirl spin-off, focusing on Kara’s cousin, Clark Kent. We’ve seen him start his life with Lois Lane and they have a child together, but they only pop up now and then; usually for a crossover. Now it’s time to see where they are in their own story.

There have been a lot of Superman stories over the years. Most of them focus on him being single, meeting Lois, and sharing his life with him. We’re through that. This series is going to connect to parents, as the two figure out how to be working parents in today’s society while saving the world from whatever villain shows up next.

Superman & Lois is part of The CW’s “fall” lineup and will premiere in January 2021.
