10. Daybreak

At the end of 2019, Netflix surprised us with Daybreak. The post-apocalyptic series was a little like Mad Max meets High School Musical, and it turned out to be hilarious. We got a show that was told from different perspectives—and in different ways to suit those characters. It was a chance to see how different people would look at others in different ways because we are never ourselves to everyone.

Despite a shocking cliffhanger of an ending, Netflix decided to cancel the series after just one season. We still need to know what’s next in the world where mostly only teenagers have survived.

9. Anne with an E

This may not be fully Netflix’s fault, but that doesn’t mean the show shouldn’t be saved. Canadian network CBC has decided not to go ahead with Anne with an E Season 4. But it deserves to have it.

The period drama brought us an inspiring show. While it was set in the past, many of the storylines still resonate today. And it was all about this young woman defying social expectations with a relationship that defines a generation.

It’s one of those underrated gems on Netflix. Someone needs to save it and give it the promotional attention that it deserves.
