10. Spring Breakers

Original Release Date: March 22, 2013

Box Office Earnings: $31.7 million worldwide, $14.1 million comes from international ticket sales and $17.6 million internationally. A small amount, it may seem, but for a budget of $5 million, that’s not too bad.

Critical Acclaim: For the most part (67% at Rotten Tomatoes), critics had nice things to say about the movie, but audiences were not having it. Let’s just say it was a fail in that department. The movie also stars Ashley Benson, Vanessa Hudgens, Rachel Korine, and James Franco.

What the movie is about: Spring Breakers follows a group of friends desperate for a wild adventure during their spring break vacation. Events get out of control when they become entangled with “Alien” a rapper and drug dealer.

Simply the best: Okay, hear me out. I am not defending this movie whatsoever. I’m aware this movie is no good. And if you’re wondering why I would include the movie on this list in the first place, I have a great answer — because of Selena Gomez! Sure, she leaves within the first 20 minutes, but, if you ask me, she leaves before the movie tanks!

9. The Dead Don’t Die

Original Release Date: June 14, 2019

Box Office Earnings: Despite the star-studded cast, The Dead Don’t Die only managed to gather a total of $15.3 million.

Critical Acclaim: Over at Rotten Tomatoes, the scores aren’t good! The Dead Don’t Die has a 55% from critics and 38% from audiences.

What the movie is about: Zombies! The dead return and are taking over a small, uneventful town. It’s witty, but may not be for everyone. I suggest reading a few reviews about the movie (good and bad) to help make up your mind about it.

Simply the best: When it comes to The Dead Don’t Die, you either love the movie or you don’t! There doesn’t seem to be an in-between. I enjoyed the movie, especially Selena Gomez’s surprising appearance.
