8. Behaving Badly

Original Release Date: August 1, 2014

Box Office Earnings: The ticket sales for domestic box offices aren’t known, but it only gathered about $422,697 thousand overseas, according to Box Office Mojo. It seems like this movie had a small release in a few locations and went straight to TV screens everywhere else.

Critical Acclaim: We’ll be honest, the movie isn’t great. In fact, make another choice if you’re thinking about watching a Selena Gomez movie from this list. The only reason we are including Behaving Badly here is because of Selena Gomez’s performance.

She’s great and did the best she could! This is also one of her first roles where she tries to step into a more mature role when it comes to her acting.

What the movie is about: Rick Stevens only wants to win the heart of Nina, who happens to be the most popular girl in school.

7. The Fundamentals of Caring

Original Release Date: The Fundamentals of Caring premiered on Netflix on June 24, 2016. It’s a Netflix original so it didn’t go to theaters, but it did have its world premiere at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival.

Critical Acclaim: While not nominated for any awards, the movie scored well with critics and audiences.

What the movie is about: Ben (Paul Rudd), a caregiver, takes Trevor (Craig Roberts) who is in a wheelchair on a road trip where they both embark on a journey of self-discovery. Along the way, they also meet Dot (Selena Gomez), who ended up needing their company as much as they needed hers.

Simply the best: Yes, we are finally over the mediocre films and moving on to the great ones! The Fundamentals of Caring is super sweet and shows Selena at her best.
