Favorite moments from Gilmore Girls: 16-20

16. Season 1, Episode 21,“Love Daisies and Troubadours”

In this episode, Rory finally responds to Dean’s “I love you” when he arrives at Chilton to see Rory. They argue and amidst all the arguing Rory says “I love you, you idiot”. You think this moment is huge, wait till Lorelai receives a thousand yellow daisies from her boyfriend Max as a wedding proposal and he proposes to her over the phone. To celebrate the 20 years of the series, fans or newcomers should definitely watch the series for moments like these.

17. Season 2, Episode 21, “Lorelai’s Graduation Day”

When Lorelai graduates from her night business school and at her ceremony when she looks into the crowd she sees her mum and dad teary. The moment shared between Lorelai and her parents is purely beautiful and shows the love they share and that bond can never break even though do not seem to see eye to eye most of the time.

Also, Rory misses her mum’s graduation, as she skips school to visit Jess in NYC. Rory loves school, so it is out of character for her but it shows how much she cares and is falling in love for Jess.

18. Season 2, Episode 10, “The Bracebridge Dinner”

The Bracebridge dinner episode is an episode that brings everything that makes Stars Hollow happy and warm. Also, what makes this episode remarkable also features Rory and Lorelai coming together for a dinner with the townspeople of Stars Hollow for a historic “period dinner”. It shows how tight-knit as a town Stars Hollows is and that the people of Stars Hollow are all family.

19. Season 6, Episode 13, “Friday Night’s Alright for Fighting”

The final 10 minutes of the episode is pure class, as the camera work was great to show the Gilmores at Friday night dinner screaming at each other to giggling. Then before the episode ends, Lorelai and Emily rehash their argument of when Lorelai first became pregnant. To celebrate the 20 years of Gilmore Girls, this episode would be a must-watch, as it is beautifully written and the camera work is superb. It sets the moods of the scenes well.

20. Season 1, Episode 9, “Rory’s Dance”

It is this episode that Rory goes to her first dance with her first boyfriend Dean. Rory accidentally stays out all night with Dean, as they overslept at a ballerina’s school in Star Hollows. Also, in this episode, Emily (Rory’s grandmother) sees Rory and Dean of and stays back with Lorelai, because she sees that her daughter has done her back really badly.

Emily looks after Lorelai and makes her banana on toast. But, it is short-lived when Emily and Lorelai both wake up the next morning and see Rory has not come home. Emily starts to argue with Lorelai and all of Lorelai’s past and broken expectations come up.

It is the first of many times that we see how different Lorelai’s relationship with her mother is compared to her relationship with Rory. The relationship that Lorelai and Emily have, almost threatens Lorelai and Rory’s as Lorelai worries that Rory will make the same mistakes as she did.
