Favorite moments from Gilmore Girls: 11-15

11. Season 5, Episode 13, “Wedding Bell Blues”

Emily and Richard hit a tough time in their marriage, so to celebrate their love for each other that they know exists they have a renewing of vows party. It is a beautiful formal event, in which Richard gives a speech before they share their first dance of the night.

In his speech, he mentions how when Lorelai was a child and had painful earaches, Emily used to sing a song called “Wedding Bell Blues” by Fifth Dimension that would help ease the pain for Lorelai. Emily teased Richard that his name was not Bill and he finishes his speech with “for tonight and tonight only, my name is Bill and this is our song.” Emily and Richard are the epitome of true love throughout the series.

12. Season 5, Episode 11, “Women of Questionable Morals”

When Luke builds Lorelai an ice rink after she has been having a bad day with snow. As Lorelai loves snow and it normally if she smells snow then good things will happen to her. It is an incredibly enormous romantic gesture from Luke to Lorelai to help her make up with snow. Any diehard Gilmore Girls fan would watch this scene over and over again.

13. Season 7 Finale, “Bon Voyage”

In the finale of Gilmore Girls, Rory has finished college and has secured a job straight away and Lorelai is feeling down as she planned to spend more time with Rory. Rory’s graduation party is canceled and the whole town of Star Hollows including Luke goes ahead with a Bon Voyage surprise party.

He organizes everything for the party and when rain is forecast, he sews tents and tarps together that he received from the townspeople as a cover. The gesture is not just for Rory, it is a grand romantic gesture from Luke to show Lorelai how much he truly loves her. Lorelai thanks Luke and he tells her, “I just like to see you happy,” before they kiss and get back together.

14. Season 2, Episode 7, “Like Mother, Like Daughter”

Emily and Lorelai’s fashion show. It is rare to see Lorelai and her mum Emily getting along with each other, but it is lovely to see the two of them having fun. They wear matching outfits and do the catwalk together to the tune of “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.”

15. Season 3, Episode 7, “They Shoot Gilmores, Don’t They?”

Lorelai is determined to win the annual Stars Hollow 24 hour dance marathon over Kirk (who is the oddball in the town). She partners up with Rory who is dragged into it, because Lorelai is unable to find anyone else.

They almost win, but Rory’s boyfriend at the time Dean who is watching is being taunted by Jess (a boy who Rory likes) and Dean breaks up with Rory during the marathon. Lorelai consoles her broken-hearted daughter at the end of the marathon. The episode has it all from happy, sad, and hilarious moments.
