Colony

We start with a series that was unfairly canceled. Colony brought us a dystopian series, but it had some brilliant twists along the way. It’s set in a police force that you’ve never seen before: an invading alien force.

Josh Holloway stars as Will Bowman, a man who has one goal in mind: to find his missing son. You see, his son was on the opposite side of a divide when the aliens invaded and dropped its walls. Now Will has no idea if his son is alive or dead. All he can do is help.

While he does that, Will works for the aliens. He’s former Army and FBI, so he hunts down the resistance fighters. What he doesn’t realize is that one of the resistance groups is someone close to him.

The series is one of survival. How far are people willing to go to preserve their own lives and find the people they care about? It’s certainly one of the top shows on The 100 when you consider the actions Clarke, Abby, Kane, and so many others have taken over the years.

While it’s set in the future, it’s also one of those shows we can relate to. There are similarities to the occupation during World War II. Those who have watched The Man in the High Castle will see some similarities in regimes. It’s an engaging show that is worth the three seasons, even if it does have an abrupt ending.
