Dark Matter

We move onto a show that is set in space, making it a popular option for fans of The 100. However, this series isn’t set in a post-apocalyptic world. It’s a sci-fi show filled with action, drama, and intrigue. Like The 100, it’s based on a book series. Dark Matter is a graphic novel series.

It all starts with six people waking up onboard a ship in the middle of space. They have no idea who they are or how they got there. All they can do is call each other by their numbers.

After stabilizing their vessel, which was in danger as they woke up, and getting the ship’s AI to help (it can’t), the group has to figure out who they are and how they ended up on the ship. More importantly, they need to figure out why they’ve lost their memories. Who has done this to them?

Along the way, they run into people who know them. Of course, they can’t let these people know that they’re suffering memory loss, but it causes a few difficult and interesting conversations throughout the series.

There are three seasons to the series. Sadly, Dark Matter was abruptly canceled, so there is a cliffhanger at the end. The good news is that many of the stars have moved onto other projects both in Canada and in the U.S.
