Which Bob’s Burgers fever dream premiere is better: Season 11’s or Season 7’s?

After months of waiting, the Belchers are finally back. Despite COVID seemingly ruining everything, Bob’s Burgers was still able to be produced. Thus, we’re getting Season 11 at its normal time instead of later like live-action shows. In particular, Season 11’s premiere seems like it’s going to be the perfect escape from reality for all of us.

During Comic-Con, Loren Bouchard gave us a small preview of the Season 11 premiere. Entitled “Dream a Little Bob of Bob,” the episode is supposed to be set in Bob’s dream. Because of that, it would only be right to compare it to another dreamy episode. In particular, the premiere episode of Season 7 has a somewhat similar premise, making an easy comparison.

In honor of both episodes, I thought it would be fun to compare the two and “pick a winner” in the end. Considering how fun Bob’s Burgers is, there really aren’t any losers. As fans, we’re truly the winners here.

Before getting started, there will be spoilers from both Season 7’s “Flu-ouise” and Season 11’s “Dream a Little Bob of Bob” if you haven’t watched. If you have, then let’s get into it.

Let’s take it back to Season 7 and talk about what happened in “Flu-ouise.”

Taking it back to 2016, Season 7 of Bob’s Burgers premiered with “Flu-ouise.” In the episode, Louise gets sick with the flu and things go awry from there. First, the family accidentally mangles her favorite toy, Kuchi Kopi, and Louise is understandably upset. She falls into a fever dream featuring Kuchi Kopi and some creatures who act and sound suspiciously like her family.

Eventually, Louise realizes that she was a bit too harsh and decides to let it go when she finally does wake up. The episode is especially fun as the visuals are impressive and Louise’s dream features a lot of great musical numbers. Overall, the episode is a lot of fun and gave us some incredible character development for Louise.
