Bering Sea Gold brings an end to its ninth season tonight. It’s time to see who will take home the winning stake.
Before someone can win, every captain will push their teams to the limit for one final chance to win. They’ll do whatever it takes. Well, that is except put the lives of their teams at risk, as Kris Kelly shows in this exclusive clip we have to share thanks to our friends at Discovery Channel.
In the clip, something goes wrong with the equipment that could put a team member’s life at risk. And Kris knows if one piece of equipment plays up, something else will cause a problem later.

The clip shows the pressure the ship captains are under. This is the last push. They’re on the home straight, but they need to do what they can to come in with the big win. The ice is on the verge of disappearing, and all teams need to be back on shore before that happens. Just take a look at the clip:
Under normal circumstances, the pressure is on. For Kris Kelly, the pressure is even worse. Machines start to act up. At first, it’s the air compressor. Without it, the team can’t work underwater, which means the mission to get the last gold is put on hold.
On top of that, Kris knows this is trouble for the rest of the final days. What will break next? Will it stop them even getting back to shore? He’ll have to put together a “makeshift operation.”
One thing I will say about the clip is that we see just how much Kris’s guys trust him. There’s no fear. Everyone calmly does what they need to preserve life, knowing Kris will react as soon as he knows there’s a problem.
