Fans of The Haunting of Hill House were anticipating the arrival of Bly Manor. Now that it’s streaming on Netflix, does it live up to the expectations?

The Haunting is an anthology series, so the latest season is not a continuation of Hill House. Instead, it features a new setting, story, and characters. However, most of the talent from the first season return to take on new characters.

Still, despite the familiar faces, the story is completely different for the most part. Don’t get me wrong, I’m only referring to both seasons having ghosts and haunting images hidden in nearly every scene for audiences to find.

And at the center of each season is an impactful and emotion-packed story. Hill House was about family and their love and grudges for each other, and Bly Manor puts love and relationships at the heart of it. But surrounding both are still chills and mysteries.

Which is better, Hill House or Bly Manor?

This isn’t really a question that can be answered as it depends on each viewer. In my humble opinion, Hill House remains my favorite season of the two. Simply because I fell more in love with the story and attached to the characters.

I also found myself at the edge of my seat watching Hill House more so than the latest. For a good scare and images that stick with you long after, Hill House is the season to watch.

This isn’t to say you should skip Bly Manor. Not at all. The Haunting of Bly Manor is still very much worth watching! If you loved Hill House, you’ll still enjoy this one!
