Was that footage of Clare Crawley being pregnant on The Bachelor real?

During The Bachelorette Season 16 premiere, one of Clare Crawley’s potential suitors rocked up with a baby bump. It was a chance to mimic her first appearance on The Bachelor when she was a contestant.

Now it’s led to the question about whether Clare was pregnant when she was a contestant on the show. That would certainly be a little out there, and surely it would be something we’d remember, right?

Well, while the footage was real, the baby bump wasn’t. Clare did have a baby bump, but it was fake. Her idea was that the baby bump would make her memorable.

There are a lot of women for the lead men to remember, and the same applies on The Bachelorette but the opposite way. Everyone needs to make an outstanding first impression. Some will connect to their jobs, while others will have cheesy lines. For Clare on The Bachelorette, there was even a guy who turned up in a bubble because the season was taking part in a bubble.

So, when Clare was a contestant on The Bachelor, she needed to stand out. What a way to make a first impression turning up with a baby bump!

Many fans took to Twitter afterward putting it all together. How could we forget that she was the fake pregnant one?

The pregnancy bump in the promo footage finally makes sense. Some fans contemplated whether this was going to be the big drama of the season, but really, it’s all just old footage.

What is the drama? Well, the questions about that continue. We got a tease of what’s to come, but we don’t have all the answers just yet.
