8. The Good Girl

Original Release Date: August 7, 2002

Box Office Earnings: With $14 million domestically and $2.8 million internationally, the movie gathered a total of $16.8 million worldwide.

Critical Reception: The Good Girl received a critics rating of 82% and a low audience score of 59%. The low audience score rating is surprising as it won five awards from its 16 nominations.

Simply the best: The Good Girl was a nice love story between two high profile actors in Gyllenhaal and Jennifer Aniston. Aniston plays the good girl who is unsatisfied with her routine and unhappy with her pot-smoking husband.

Her life is static until she notices Holden played by Gyllenhaal. Holden is a 22-year-old antisocial clerk who was hired at her workplace. The two fall in love, as they realize they have something in common. What is it? Well, you have to find out by watching this drama/comedy.

7. Nocturnal Animals

Simply the Best Gyllenhaal plays four characters in Nocturnal Animals. He plays Tony, a typical dad, and Tony, a shell of a human. Also, he is young Edward, a cute boyfriend, and old Edward, a psycho.

Gyllenhaal is not like any other actor in Hollywood; he can bring weird characters to life and make audiences love their imperfections. He has an act for making thrillers such as Nocturnal Animals great. Nocturnal Animals showcases Gyllenhaal at his best, so what more could you want?
