One actress from The Office was actually a contestant on The Bachelor

When binging worlds collide! As it turns out, one contestant from The Bachelor tried her hand at another kind of TV role long before competing for that famous long stemmed rose. According to Showbiz Cheat Sheet, Jenna Fischer spilled the beans on what went down.
On a recent episode of her podcast with Angela Kinsey, Office Ladies, Fischer divulged the details of how one lucky actress landed a role on the iconic series and revealed that she was actually a contestant on The Bachelor season 16, or as Fischer put it, “The one with Ben [Flajnik].”
The actress (and future Bachelor contestant) was actually Shira Astrof. Astrof appeared in the Office episode “Product Recall,” which was part of the third season. For her minor role on the iconic series, Astrof played Andy Bernard’s love interest and new girlfriend, Jamie, who infamously turns out to be a high school student.
The scene in question shows Andy and Jim Halpert walking through a high school hallway, only for Andy to recognize his girlfriend at her locker. Shocked, it takes Andy a second to realize that she is, in fact, a high schooler.
Needless to say, their on-screen love did not bloom and their brief relationship quickly became a thing of the past, along with Astrof’s role.
Astrof’s stint on The Bachelor was also short-lived. As noted by the publication, she was eliminated in the first week.
Fischer, who played Pam Beesly on the NBC series, reached out to Astrof via Instagram to get the full scoop. Apparently, Astrof claimed that when she got the audition to appear on The Office, she actually “never” watched the show. What a lucky break.
Perhaps most importantly, though, is that Astrof finally watched the series prior to her episode airing.
