Don’t miss the intense Chicago Fire Season 9 premiere live on NBC tonight

It’s been a long break, but Firehouse 51 is back in action. Here’s everything you need to know about the Chicago Fire Season 9 premiere.

This is going to be a female-heavy episode, and we’re most definitely not complaining. To start, we get to meet the new paramedic. The season picks up months after the Season 8 finale, which is when Emily Foster found out she’d got back into med school. She had to make a decision for her future, and it turns out she left.

That leaves the position of Brett’s partner open once more. The Chicago Fire Season 9 premiere introduces Adriyan Rae as Gianna Mackey, which is apparently going to cause some complications for the firehouse.

How? We’ll have to wait and see.

Brett’s leadership will get to shine in a tricky call. We know she can be a good leader. We’ve seen that from her in the past, but what’s the call that will push her to fully shine?

Then there’s Stella Kidd. Boden will see potential in her, something that he’s already seen and something that she’s proven is there. What does that mean for her and Kelly? What will it mean for her time at Firehouse 51? Will we see another lieutenant in the firehouse?

What else will happen on the Firehouse 51 premiere?

It’s not clear what is in store for the others. This is the premiere, though. We’re used to big episodes here.

There shouldn’t be a death in the premiere. Because of the abrupt ending to Season 8, we didn’t end up with the huge finale that left us with the fates of various characters on the line. There’s nothing to pick up from in the premiere, which will certainly settle a few minds after the shocking events from the Season 8 premiere.

However, that doesn’t mean everyone will make it out uninjured. There is a big call, there always is. It’s just a shame the promo doesn’t give us an idea because it focuses on all three One Chicago shows.

Check out the synopsis for the Chicago Fire Season 9 premiere.

"In the Season 9 premiere, Firehouse 51 welcomes a new member to the team, whose presence could provide some complications. Brett’s leadership shines during a scary call. Boden sees great potential in Kidd and proposes an idea that could have lasting repercussions."
