UK TV personality Katie Price is always open with her fans on her successes, struggles, and overall family life. The 42-year-old model is the mom to five children: Harvey Price, Princess Tiaamii Crystal Esther Andre, Junior Savva Andreas Andre, Jett Riviera Hayler, and Bunny Hayler.

Through social media, interviews, and her TV show Katie Price: My Crazy Life, the star has opened up many times on what life is like for her with such a big family as a single mom. In particular, she’s been very candid about her son Harvey, who suffers from Prader–Willi syndrome.

Prader–Willi syndrome is a rare genetic disorder, which can cause, according to Prader–Willi Syndrome Association, “small hands and feet, abnormal growth and body composition (small stature, very low lean body mass, and early-onset childhood obesity), hypotonia (weak muscles) at birth, insatiable hunger, extreme obesity, and intellectual disability.”

Though there is treatment which can help people diagnosed the disorder, there is currently no cure.

This week, Katie Price gave a totally honest interview with The Sun, where she revealed she’s sadly afraid for Harvey’s life. According to her, the disorder makes her eldest son overeat, and now he’s almost 29 stone in weight.

Apparently, Katie has resorted to padlocking the refrigerator and food cabinets to keep Harvey from serving himself, and the reality star has also claimed she wants to buy a treadmill and workout equipment to keep her son active.

Katie shared with The Sun:

"It’s a cruel illness. He feels hungry all the time. Every time I feed him, it’s killing him. Even though it makes him happy, it’s cruel of me to do it. He needs to lose weight or he’ll end up dead. He doesn’t deserve that. I don’t want to lose him. He’s only 18, he’s got his whole life ahead of him. I will do anything to help."

The publication also reports that Harvey was very sick and admitted to the hospital this past summer, and though he tested negative for COVID-19, Katie still feared for his life. She was told that he was “at risk of organ failure and a coma,” and had to stay in intensive care for 10 days.

This is clearly a very tough time for Katie Price and her family. I really hope she is able to get medical advice from a doctor or healthcare professional on how to help poor Harvey. She shouldn’t be going through this alone and scared.
