Some might say that Gordon Ramsay is the king of fine dining, so it’s only expected that some of his best dishes would cost a pretty penny to consume. Is his latest expensive meal, a Christmas dinner, worth the price tag? The response has been divided to say the least.

According to the Daily Mail, the 54-year-old British chef has released a new holiday meal at his Bread Street Kitchen in London, which costs a whopping £140! Ramsay took to Instagram to share a video of his plate, featuring his classic and popular turkey wellington with gravy, cranberry sauce, and a few other additions.

You can see Gordon Ramsay’s Instagram post below.

If you check out the comments section on the post, you’ll see that the response has been rather mixed. While some people believe the meal looks delicious, others think he’s missing some key ingredients. Ramsay received remarks such as, “No Yorkshire Pudding. No Cauliflower Cheese. No Stuffing. Gravy thinner than my Nan’s arm (she died nearly 20 years ago, so pretty thin!!) 3/10” and “WHERES THE LAMB SAUCE!?.”

Some of the nicer comments he received included, “Would be perfect Christmas with this” and “This looks so good [heart eyes emoji].”

This is hardly the first time the world-famous cook has received backlash for a meal that was in my opinion overpriced. Earlier this year, Ramsay was slammed for showing off his English breakfast once people found out it cost £19. Many complained he made American-style bacon and didn’t include beans or tea.

Ramsay was quick to clap back at one person criticizing his English breakfast, telling the person that they were looking for a “Full English Classic Heart Attack.” You can see the exchange below.

People who know Gordon Ramsay also know he’s not one to back down from defending himself, and his responses are often quite hilarious. However, that doesn’t mean people will just be thrilled about paying £140 for one Christmas dinner. Delicious looking or not, that’s a pretty hefty price in time for the holidays!
