These five characters made Cobra Kai season 3 perfect

Anyone looking for nostalgia from Cobra Kai Season 3 is in for a treat. The entire crew behind the Karate Kid legacy from Netflix is quickly turning this into one of the best series of all time. Yes, of all time.

Thankfully, there has been a ton of thought put into the development of the third season of Cobra Kai. They’ve left nearly no stone unturned, and any Karate Kid junkie will perpetually see flashbacks from the previous movies.

The returning characters for season three, however, have turned the volume straight to eleven. Warning: Spoilers ahead if you have not watched the latest season of Cobra Kai on Netflix!

The five best returning characters in Cobra Kai season 3

The girlfriend returns

At some point, everyone expected the primary characters from the first three movies to return. Remember how awesome and shocking it was when John Kreese returned from the darkness of losing alongside his ponytailed sidekick Terry Silver. Well, here comes another home run, because Kumiko has returned!

Remember Kumiko was the unlikely girlfriend Daniel-san found when he and Miyagi went to Okinawa. The prettiest girl in Tomi Village, the best dancer, and also the designated O-bon dance instructor. Somehow she falls for the most beta dude to ever fly into Okinawa, and that’s saying a lot for Asian culture. Well, her story took an amazing turn and she plays an absolutely critical piece of the season 3 plot.

The girlfriend returns!

If one is good, two is better, right? Well, Ali is back in the mix as well! This is different, however, because she was obviously with both Johnny and Daniel. Does she return as a love interest for Johnny? Or a home-wrecker for Daniel? Either way, getting Elisabeth Shue to return was a huge win for the series.

The mortal enemy is back!

As far as henchmen go, Chozen Toguchi is stellar. From the second Sato Toguchi’s nephew appears on the screen, he is mischievous, evil, and easy to despise. And just like I mentioned above, he correctly reads the room when he first meets Daniel, crushing the effeminate Jersey-native’s hand with an introductory handshake. Chozen may have been stealing from villagers at the market, running an ice-breaking gambling racket for day-drinkers, and abusing U.S. military members while pretending to “train” them at Sato’s dojo, but at least he pegged Daniel from day one.

Ring that bell

Remember that little girl who the entire populace of Tomi Village basically sacrificed during the typhoon by giving her the bell ringer role up a rickety 30ft. ladder? Well, she returns to help out Daniel in a time of need, and to her credit, doesn’t bring up the fact the village could have just run a rope from the bell to the pillbox and kept everyone safe.

Next. Cobra Kai Season 3 on Netflix. dark

Last but not least there is a cameo of Terry Silver’s character in a Vietnam flashback. Will
Thomas Ian Griffith make a Cobra Kai cameo? Only time will tell.

Fans can’t wait for Cobra Kai season 4 already. The battle between dojos is going to be a battle anticipated as much as anything in Netflix history.
