Suranne Jones stars in Unforgiven, coming to BritBox in January 2021

We continue to turn to streaming services for new content as broadcast networks remain on the quieter side. What’s coming to BritBox in January 2021?

This is a good month for binge-watches. There are a number of titles arriving with multiple seasons. The most notable addition is Red Dwarf with all eight seasons joining the streaming service.

This is one of the best British TV shows ever to air. All episodes have been newly remastered, giving us the same story in better quality. And you can continue with Red Dwarf: The Promised Land to top it all off.

If you’re a fan of Suranne Jones, you’ll want to check out the miniseries Unforgiven. Jones plays Ruth, a woman who was incarcerated for 15 years after the murder of two policemen when she was a teenager. She now has to rebuild everything that was lost, but maintaining a job and friendships is much harder than she thought when her past comes back to haunt her.

BritBox also has a weekly release coming. Traces Season 1 will air for six weeks, starting on Jan. 5. It follows 23-year-old Emma Hedges in her new job at the Scottish Institute of Forensic Science and Anatomy. She’s keen to jump right in, but the discovery of a woman’s remains on Dundee Law brings up some strange feelings. This is her story—the remains are her mother from 18 years ago.
