When is The Expanse season 5 finale?

We’re approaching the season 5 finale of The Expanse!

Season 5 of the popular series premiered on Amazon Prime Video on December 16, 2020, and now, its highly-anticipated ending is just around the corner. But while there’s still more to come for this one, don’t expect the show to go on for years and years. As we previously reported, the intergalactic series will come to a full close soon enough, as it was renewed for a sixth and final season.

And so, there’s no time like the present to start binging The Expanse, and most notably preparing for both of its epic finales to come, starting with season 5. So let’s.

What is The Expanse about?

Based on James S.A. Corey’s best-selling novels, humans have “colonized the solar system” sometime in the future for the premise of The Expanse. As you might’ve guessed, the plot only thickens from there.

IMDb describes the ambitious series with:

"A thriller set two hundred years in the future, The Expanse follows the case of a missing young woman who brings a hardened detective and a rogue ship’s captain together in a race across the solar system to expose the greatest conspiracy in human history."

When does The Expanse season 5 end?

The season 5 finale premieres on February 2, 2021. As Deadline previously reported, the show’s renewal for season 6 actually came just three weeks before season 5 debuted on Amazon Prime Video. After delays, filming reportedly began last month.

Originally debuting on its home network of SyFy until it was cancelled, it was reportedly the passionate fanbase and their petitioning that ultimately led to The Expanse getting picked up for seasons 4 and 5 with Amazon Prime Video. So Kudos to the fans!
