Prodigal Son Season 2, Episode 2 has Malcolm and Martin working on a case

Prodigal Son is back and the first episode of Season 2 was a fun one, but it brought up a lot of questions about our favorite characters. Many of them won’t be answered yet as Season 2 continues tonight with the second episode.

As the second season returns, Malcolm is not OK. Although he might be more OK than he has ever been because he knows the truth about a lot of things. He knows he is more like his father than he wanted to admit to himself, but he also learned just how easy it is to make someone go away.

After his sister Ainsley killed Nicholas Endicott, Malcolm got rid of the body and it wound up in Estonia somehow. However, Ainsley apparently doesn’t remember what happened that night and believes (maybe?) that Malcolm killed Endicott to save the family.

This brings up the questions: Does Ainsley really not remember? Will Endicott’s murder and subsequent cover-up be the thing that drives Malcolm over the edge?

Prodigal Son Season 2 questions

We also have more questions about the supporting characters. Prodigal Son is becoming more of an ensemble cast as the writers are trying to give depth to the people around Malcolm.

Gil and Jessica seem to give a relationship a shot, but Dani doesn’t like it. She thinks the Whitly family is a little crazy, but certainly isn’t admitting her own feelings she seemingly had for Malcolm in the first season.

JT also was the subject of racism within the police force when uniformed officers pointed a gun at him despite JT telling them he was a cop. Where does JT go from here and can he trust the police beyond his own partners?

There is a lot going on, but most fans really just want to see more of Martin and he gets front and center of this week’s episode. He will consult on a case Malcolm is working on. So, the consultant is getting a consultant. Who needs the police anymore?

"When a priest is found murdered in his place of worship, Bright grapples with its effect on his own trauma. Martin, trying to help with the case, consults his fellow inmate, Friar Pete, whom he learns is keeping a secret of his own. Meanwhile, Ainsley grows worried that Jessica is keeping something from her regarding her relationship with Gil. And Dani, Gil and Malcolm rally behind JT, urging him to speak to his union rep about the discrimination he’s been facing."
