In the Feb.14 episode of CBS’s The Equalizer, season 1, episode 2, “Glory,” Robyn McCall is forced to steal top secret information from the FBI in order to help a woman whose son was ordered to be kidnapped by human trafficker Michel Deveaux.

Deveaux wants to know who the informant in his operation is. Unless Robyn delivers the goods, the young boy will be killed. Robyn also enlists the aid of her Aunt Vi in discovering the secret Delilah is keeping from both of them.

Here are the 5 best moments of The Equalizer season 1, episode 2

What’s a teen to do?

More Delilah angst. Who hasn’t experienced a strained relationship with their crime fighting mama who you believed was always traveling for the sake of charity work but was actually a CIA operative away on dangerous missions, right? Delilah has a secret and Aunt Vi threatens to make a few phone calls to find out what it is. Turns out, the kid will be a soloist in a big street performance but does not want her mom to know out of fear of being disappointed in her not showing up.

The Equalizer O.K. Corrals it

Agreeing to take on the rescue mission, Robyn tracks 12-year-old Jackson’s kidnappers to a warehouse where they are holding two escapees, doused in gasoline, captive. She not only sneaks up on them with firepower in both hands but is quick on the draw without barely looking.

Detective Dante’s dogged determination

Okay, so the concept of Detective Dante’s frustration is nothing earth-shattering. Still, its amusing to watch him run around asking anyone who would listen if they knew anything about the woman in this picture – Robyn McCall. While he professes to be no fan of avenging angels, we wait to see if Dante will become a reluctant ally, a hindering foe or if he’ll even ever find out the truth.

The exchange

The Equalizer brings the faux FBI file along with Deveaux’s girlfriend, having done a little kidnapping of her own. A life for a life. She tosses the file on the ground, demanding the boy be released from the SUV first. Cool move until Deveaux orders his henchmen to kill them all anyway, including his boo.

Deveaux despises disloyalty above all else. But Robyn has another trick up her sleeve. When Deveaux opens the file, the first thing he sees is a photo of his right-hand man. It stirs up surprise in Devaux, distraction as a result of Mel making things go boom and allows Robyn and the gang to escape. Too bad. Deveaux’s girlfriend really was the mole.

Delilah shines in Times Square

Jackson is reunited with his mom. Robyn is reunited with William Bishop, agreeing to work with him and more importantly, she makes it in time to catch Delilah and the choir give a commanding performance of “Glory” in Times Square.
