Will Billie return to Chastain on The Resident Season 4?

Jessica Lucas stepped through the doors of Chastain as Billie Sutton on The Resident Season 4. Will she be back? Could Billie become a permanent member of staff?

We quickly realized why the staff of Chastain weren’t all that happy to see Billie back. She’s brash, sometimes a little arrogant, and knows that she knows more than the majority of people in the room. However, she also wants the best for her friends, especially when it comes to Nic.

Despite Billie and Conrad not liking each other, Billie turned up to see Nic and support her. And it was a good thing Billie was there as she was the one that got Nic’s arrhythmia under control quickly.

Billie and Conrad got a chance to clear the air on The Resident Season 4, Episode 6. Most importantly, Billie accepted that she only had herself to blame for her own mistakes. It’s something we can all learn to do.

Will Billie return on The Resident Season 4?

The end of the episode didn’t have a job offer for Billie. It also didn’t see her completely walk away from the hospital.

When Deadline reported that Lucas was joining the series, it included the fact that she would be a series regular. That means Billie is going to be back in some sort of way, and as a permanent doctor at Chastain would make a lot of sense.

Chastain is going through some growing pains since becoming public. Not all doctors want to work for a public hospital, which was how Dr. Jake Wong ended up coming in to help Bell and Kit.

Then there is the problem of one doctor being moved into a care facility. Cain was left alone in the facility after he woke from his coma unable to breathe on his own. This could hint that Morris Chestnut is leaving the series, which opens the door for a new neurosurgeon.

Billie just happens to be a neurosurgeon. Is it possible that Conrad will want her to come work for Chastain again, especially now that she’s owned up to her mistake and no longer blames him for being fired in the first place?
