New Amsterdam Season 3: Can [Spoiler] save Kapoor?

Kapoor was infected by the coronavirus and was put on a vent. He’s awake, but his life is still on the line on New Amsterdam Season 3. It’s going to require the best to help him.

While the show turned it into COVID-19, the infection storyline was always planned. It was a superflu storyline created before the coronavirus pandemic was a concern. However, the episode was postponed and eventually reworked into the New Amsterdam Season 3 premiere.

A consistent was Dr. Kapoor being infected and needing help. He was placed on a vent, but during the premiere, Max managed to find a way to get him off the vent. All it took was multiple hospitals working together showing just how hospitals can get out of a drug shortage. Everyone just needs to talk to each other and share.

However, Kapoor isn’t out of the woods yet. His heart is damaged from being on the vent, and the prognosis isn’t good. Even the greatest cardio surgeon is unlikely to be able to help.

Max isn’t giving up, and he makes a call to the one person he trusts: Dr. Reynolds.

Can Reynolds find a way to save Kapoor on New Amsterdam Season 3?

The series hasn’t lost a main character yet. While we’ve seen Max grieve the loss of Georgia, she wasn’t a main character. Yes, we’ve said goodbye to Reynolds, but he simply moved away (and I’m not fully convinced he’s completely out).

I wouldn’t be surprised if the show opted to write out a character. However, I don’t want it to be Kapoor. Out of everyone, he’s the sweetest guy who, while sometimes getting it wrong, means well. He’s also great in scenes with Iggy.

Max’s call to Reynolds gives us hope. He didn’t answer with “Hello?” or “Yes, Max?” It was a simple “How can I help?” Max’s infamous line has rubbed off. Reynolds knows that Max would only call if he was needed, and he knows that he will do whatever he can.

So, expect to see Reynolds back at New Amsterdam. Let’s just hope that he can do something.
