What is the movie The Affair about?

From Vertical Entertainment, The Affair (not to be confused with the Showtime series) is a period drama adapted from Simon Mawer’s international best-seller, The Glass Room. The story follows two best friends who have forbidden romantic feelings for each other.

It begins simple enough, both women are very clever, but it’s not long before trouble comes knocking as Nazi troops threaten their lives. Set in the 1930s, their relationship is tested, and sees the women jump through several obstacles to be together.
