This is not a drill, Friends fans! The highly-anticipated reunion special is finally about to begin filming. That means we won’t have to wait too much longer to officially tune in for what’s bound to be a memorable unscripted special. We hope this is the case, at least.

As reported by Deadline today, the show’s original six cast members–Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer, and Matthew Perry–are slated to reunite next week to begin filming the forthcoming special. The report does not specify an exact date, but it’s safe to assume shooting will start sometime between the dates of April 5 and April 11.

The fan-favorite group will be returning to Warner Bros.’ iconic Stage 24 in Burbank, Los Angeles where they originally filmed the show.

As fans of the long-running NBC series know, this reunion special has been in the works for some time. After months of rumors, it was officially confirmed in late 2019 that the beloved stars of Friends would be coming together for an unscripted show, which would premiere on HBO Max. Of course, COVID-19 shutdowns and postponements across the world affected filming for the reunion, and fans have been in limbo for over a year now on when we could expect it to be released.

And it seemed like the stars of Friends were in the same boat. Many of the actors have spoken out in the past year about the delay in filming, stating that they’d begin whenever it was safe. And in March, David Schwimmer confirmed that he planned to head out to Los Angeles to begin shooting the reunion “in a little over a month.” That timeline lines up with the latest update we’ve gotten from the Deadline report.

At this point, we’ll believe it when we see it when it comes to the Friends reunion. We can’t wait for that day to come, and hopefully, it’s very soon! We’ll keep you updated once we get a release date for the special coming to HBO Max.
